PAT NEWELL

Pat NewellMy goal as an artist is to share the joy I feel in the subject I am portraying. Whether it is a piece of pottery, a glorious landscape, the haunting aspect of Indian ruins, the glory of Fall Aspens, the beauty of Spring wildflowers or the color and light on the plains, I strive to portray my subject with skill and insight. When I connect with my subject, everything around me disappears and I am lost. I love to share that magic with others, letting them see through my eyes.

During more than 30 years as a painter, I have studied with artists in Colorado, California, and Maryland through workshops and private lessons. I completed art studies at Hendrix College, the University of Texas, Red Rocks Community College, and Denver Botanic Gardens School of Botanical Illustration, and completed a BA in Fine Arts from Loretto Heights College.

My art work has been accepted in local, regional and national juried art shows, oftentimes winning awards.

My current professional memberships include Park Hill Art Club, Denver Allied Arts Guild, Windsor Gardens Art Club, and the Spanish Peaks Arts Council of La Veta.
