GENERAL MEETING: Our General Meeting will be on March 21st, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church, 5000 E. Alameda Avenue. We are on the corner of Alameda and Fairfax. We meet on the third Saturday of every month except July, August, and December. Enter through the east door on Fairfax Street and you will find us in the big room at the end of the hall. Members please bring friends to our meetings and remember to wear your nametag! If your sign-in number is called and you are wearing your nametag, you will win $5.00!

FEBRUARY PROGRAM: We had a highly informative critique by Pat Fostvedt. She gave us many helpful suggestions about our work and how to improve it.

MARCH PROGRAM: Artist Peggy Atkinson will give us a demo on night scenes in watercolor. She has a most interesting technique and has shown her work in many of the big shows in this area.

SSSSSSHHHHHH!! Please let us be quiet during our demos and critiques. If we talk, it is very disturbing to our guest artists. Thank you.

EXHIBITS: LaVeryn Talmage, our Exhibits Chairman, has arranged for us to have a show at Montview Presbyterian Church April 4th to May 10th. Please bring two paintings per member to Montview on Saturday, April 4th from 9:00-9:30 a.m. The paintings are $5.00 each to show, and please pay when you bring them to Montview. Please also bring an 8.5 X 11 inch inventory sheet to Montview with your name, telephone number, e-mail address, title of the work(s), media, and price of your painting(s). Also fill out the DAAG exhibit cards (one for each piece) and write the title of the piece, your name, price of the work, and media in capital letters in black ink on the card. These cards will go on your paintings. If you do not have any cards, talk with LaVeryn. If you sell, 5% of the selling price will go to DAAG and 10% to Montview Presbyterian. Please tell LaVeryn if you aren’t able to be in the show. She would like to have help with registration and also hanging the show. We will take down the show Sunday, May 10th at noon after the service.

LaVeryn is planning a show for us at Driscoll Center at D.U. in October. Please start painting now for this because it is a good place to show and there is a lot of “walk-through” traffic. Ardath is also checking on a couple of places for us to show.

NOTE: At the last meeting the Guild voted to discontinue the insurance coverage which we had during the shows.

REFRESHMENTS: Nancy Graham and Lyle Jencsok will do refreshments for the March meeting and Floy Walberg and Sherrie Gunnell will do April.

MEMBER NEWS: Tony McCrary will be going in for surgery on Thursday, March 12. He would appreciate cards and letters, and please send them to his home address. Get well soon, Tony! We have two new members: Susan Bly and Judy Wroblewski. We are very happy to have you join our guild, and welcome! Roland Jones is showing at “From the Ground Up’ which is a coffee shop at 2418 S. Colorado Boulevard. This coffee shop is just north of Discount Tires near University Hills. Floy Walberg is in two shows: The Colorado Watercolor Society Show at Colorado History Museum, and at the Colorado Art Open Show at Foothills Art Gallery. Core Gallery has an open show in May. They are at 9th and Santa Fe. Contact them for more information.
