GENERAL MEETING:  Our General Meeting will be February 19, 2011 at 9:30a.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church, 5000 E. Alameda Avenue (on the corner of East Alameda and South Fairfax Streets) in Denver.  The DAAG Board will meet at 9:00 a.m., before our General Meeting.  We meet on the third Saturday of every month except July, August, and December.  Come in through the east door on Fairfax Street, and you will find us in the big room at the end of the hall.  Members please bring friends to our meetings and remember to wear your name tag!  If your sign-in number is called and you are wearing your name tag, you win $5.00.  Last month we had three nineteen members and three guests, Maggie Giza, Rita Lipton, and Ann Sokolovich, in attendance.  


NEW MEMBER: Welcome back Zoe Mazeau.  Zoe is a past member of DAAG.


PROGRAM SCHEDULE:

  • February 19 - Evelyn Lail will demonstrate layering mixed media
  • March 19 – Pat Fosvedt will do a critique on member work
  • April 16 – Jackie McFarland will do a watercolor demonstration
  • May 21 – Pat Condit will do a watercolor demonstration
  • June 18 – White Elephant


SSSSSSSHHHH!  Please remember to be quiet during our demonstrations and critiques.  Talking is so very distracting to our members and guest presenters!  Thank you!!


DAAG EXHIBITS:

  • COLORADO HEIGHTS SHOW will run until May 2, 2011.

MEMBER NEWS:

  • Our dear friend and fellow member, Roland Jones, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011.  A service for him was held February 5th at Grace Methodist Church.  Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so to one of the following places:  The Music Department at Grace United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 4905 East Yale Ave., Denver, CO 80222, Rocky Ridge Music Camp, 465 Longs Peak Road, Estes Park, CO 80517, or UNICEF.
  • Sally Moore has been in the hospital.


WEBSITE:  We have a really nice website, and there is plenty of room for more of our members to be on it.  The cost is $25.00 for six paintings. If you are already on the website minor changes, like a changed email address or one image, are free. Larger changes, up to changing all of the images, would be $15.  If you are interested in participating, please contact our Webmaster, Karl Johnson at karl@colorado-artist.com and he will put your paintings on the web.  If you need to have pictures taken of your work, contact Joyce Madden.


SUBMISSIONS TO THE NEWSLETTER:  Please email (mbkreizel@aol.com) or call me (303-862-4362) by the first Saturday of the month with information you want in that month’s newsletter.


RESUMES:  We would like members that have not put resumes and pictures in the resume book to do so.  Resume forms will be available at the meeting on Saturday.
